Private security...

In a bold new approach to finding "market solutions" for public problems, the International Olympic Committee has decided that only big sponsors of the event can do the security.

I'm not sure what's more ludicrous and alarming: the fact that Visa (!!!) will be in charge of providing security for London 2012 or the fact that Hugh Abbott MP appears to have come to life in the form of Derek Wyatt MP. It seems only a matter of time until the Ministry for Social Affairs and Woodland Folk is an actual Whitehall department.
